About the artist

Aly Lloyd is a British artist living and working in Southwest England. She is recognised for having a distinctive and contemporary painting style that fuses geometric abstractions with deconstructed and expressive natural form. Her meticulous and methodical approach to painting results in compositions often perceived as having a post-internal digital aesthetic, elements of optical illusion, and distinctly emotive undertones.

‘Be Natural’, created as part of the Played & Remade initiative, explores a visual representation of the rebirth of treasured material objects at the end of their life cycle, into new physical forms that continue to create human connection. Once forming the building blocks of a piano, passed down through generations and holding great sentimental value and creative inspiration to the individuals that connected with it, it now represents a static moment in time, embodies a visual passageway to a new life and is an emblem of its past memories.
